Mary-Anne studied at the Portsmouth College of Art and the West of England College of Art where she was awarded an Honours Degree in Fine Arts. Her formative years were spent in Malta as her father was a submariner in the Royal Navy. She paints from two studios, both situated in country venues, one outside of Melbourne, Australia and the other overlooking the Gorge de Tarn in the Aveyron. She is an award-winning artist having won many accolades in Australia, and her art is held in both private as well as public collections in the UK, Australia, Canada, India, USA, Japan, Ireland, New Zealand, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. She has held successful solo exhibitions in, London, Brisbane, Melbourne and Manama, Bahrain. Mary-Anne’s skills and talent as a portrait artist resulted in high profile commissions from the corporate world as well as Deans and Presidents from Sydney University, the University of Queensland and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners respectively. Also, a portrait of the Queen Mother was commissioned for the Royal Marine Barracks in Portsmouth, England. Her French exhibition will include over 40 paintings and will highlight her outstanding talents as an artist using both oil and acrylic mediums. The paintings have a wide variety of subjects ranging from scenes of rural France, florals, the alleyways of the souks of Bahrain and Dubai (having lived in the Middle East for 4 years), figures, portraits and beach scenes, as well as some studies reflecting the artist’s connection to ballet. Her youngest son Jared is a professional dancer with the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam, having previously danced with the Australian Ballet. The Exhibition will be open to the public from 16th June to the 12th July. Exact opening times and days to be confirmed by venue.
