Brexit and Britons in France - 09/2019 updates

Latest updates on Brexit: embassy meetings, multilingual paperwork, and marches

The British Embassy has new Brexit outreach events this month at Lille, September 4; Caen, September 12; and Paris on September 16 (see tinyurl.com/yb22ay3u).

Those applying for birth, death or marriage certificates for formalities such as French nationality applications should note the UK can now supply a new EU-approved multilingual format.

This should exempt you from needing sworn translations. For more about applying for a Multilingual Standard Form see: tinyurl.com/yyhklevt.

A People's Vote march (peoples-vote.uk) is planned in London on October 19. The date was delayed a week to avoid a clash with a fun run for the Great Ormond Street Hospital.   It will call for a final referendum on Brexit and will take place after the European Council summit on October 17-18.  Additional protests are also being organised on the original date of October 12 (see tinyurl.com/y3elqorz)
