Second Down’s restaurant to open in France

A restaurant which hires waiting staff with Down’s syndrome is set to open a new outlet in Paris in September.

Called Le Reflet, the business is already a success in Nantes, where it works with seven people with Down’s syndrome.

A crowdfunding campaign has raised almost €60,000 towards specialised equipment and adaptations for the new project.

The restaurant will open in the third arrondissement and plans to hire eight people with Down’s to work as waiting staff and in the kitchen, out of a total 12 staff.

It will use local products and hopes to work from time to time with guest chefs.
