Swine flu jab now open to all
December 17, 2009

THE CAMPAIGN to get France vaccinated against swine flu has been extended to the general public, two months after at-risk groups started getting the jab.

Health Minister Roselyne Bachelot has confirmed that vaccination vouchers started to be sent out on Tuesday to non-priority groups, starting with the youngest.

Everyone who is registered with the Assurance Maladie should receive a voucher in the post by the end of January.

Up to two million invitations can be sent out each day, although this might be slowed down if the queues at vaccination centres become too long.

Vaccination centres will remain open throughout the winter break, with the exception of December 25 and 26 and January 1 and 2.

School teachers are due to get the jab at work shortly after the Christmas holidays.
