100 years of Citroën marked at classic car show

Models charting the history of the car maker will be on show at the fourth annual Perigueux Classic Auto event in February

A display of Citroën cars to mark the centenary of the car-maker will be the major draw at the 2019 edition of the hugely popular Salon des Véhicules Anciens event.

Many Citroën models tracing the history of the marque over the past 100 years will be on show at a central display at the fourth Perigueux Classic Auto, which show takes place at the parc des expositions du Périgord à Marsac sur l'Isle on the weekend of February 16 and 17. 

The main exhibition hall, displaying more than 100 cars from several dozen clubs and organisations from around Perigueux and further afield. A large block has been allocated for ‘British-cars and participants’.

Classic-cars and motor-cycles of all types and ages are driven into the grounds over the course of Saturday or Sunday: entry is free for both the classic car and its driver.About 1,000 classics turned up to be admired by the public at each of previous shows.

Outdoor displays of military vehicles, fire-fighting and farming equipment will also be on display across the several hectares of the site, between dozens of auto-jumble stands. Here visitors will find collectors’ items, trim, materials, wiring etc. new parts or tools as well as motor-related literature.

In the main restauration hall, a professional team brought in to do the catering will produce everything from snacks to full sit-down meals (€20-25). Around the grounds, other stands offer snacks and refreshments.
