ABSOLUTE beginners looking to add an artistic string to their bow are invited to join a new series of classes in the Languedoc.

English artist Nicola Blakemore, who moved to the village of Quarante near Béziers a year ago, is launching a taster course on September 11 called ‘Art for Absolute Beginners’ designed for anyone who is not sure whether art is for them.

She said: “There is a demand from the expat community for something extra to add to their retirement. You don't need any experience, just a few basic tools and materials and the enthusiasm to learn something new and to trust in your own ability.”

The classes are held at the Domaine Bigno Garrigo, which stands in grounds of almost three acres near Cruzy and is surrounded by inspirational and stunning scenery.
