A BOOKER Prize-nominated British author living in the Lot has been honoured by his neighbours at a special event and book signing.
Indra Sinha, who was born in India and now lives in Castelfranc, spoke to about 50 of his neighbours about his writing work at the vin d’honneur in the village.
His latest book, Animal’s People, which has just been translated into French, tells the story of the 1984 Bhopal disaster in India, when a dilapidated chemical plant leaked tonnes of poisonous gas, killing up to 8,000 people and injuring many others. The hard-hitting book looks at the long-term consequences of the disaster, which left thousands chronically ill.
The Lot branch of the Association France Grande-Bretagne has invited Mr Sinha to give another talk to members shortly.
Check our website at www.connexionfrance.com for details once they are confirmed.
