Forest walks for library funds

FOREST walks organised by Lodeve English Library in the Hιrault will begin on April 26.

The first in the series will be held on April 26 with other walks planned for May 17, September 20 and October 11. They will start at 10.00 from the Salle des Fetes in St Etienne de Gourgas. Dogs on leads are welcome.

The series of walks, organised by Phyllis and Jim Mallet, has been running for around three years and has brought in much needed funds towards the upkeep of the library. Afterwards the walkers will a picnic lunch in the Mallet's garden – just 100 yards from the Salle des Fetes.

Entry is €5 which will go the library funds.

Founded in 2001, the library is located in Grande Rue, Lodeve and is open from 10.00 – 12.00 on Tuesdays, 15.00 – 17.00 on Thursdays and 10.00 – 12.30 on Saturdays. There is a small joining fee of €5 and an annual membership fee of €35 – reduced pro-rata for new members joining after January.

Members may borrow up to six books, three videos and two DVDs for up to three weeks.
