THE SMALL village of La Sauvetat du Dropt in the Lot-et-Garonne is inviting its foreign residents to come together and give a presentation to neighbours on what life is like back in their home country.
The initiative has been launched by local associations in a bid to improve integration in the village, encourage sharing and help people make new friends.
The event takes place on March 27 and participants from England, Germany, Belgium, Scotland, Italy and the US are already taking part.
“The objective is to get to know these families better. Ten groups have answered the invitation and are happy to let us discover their country, their region and their home town,” the organisers say.
“They will explain then why they decided to come to France and more particularly to our small village of La Sauvetat.”
Anyone local to the area is invited to come along. To find out more, contact Isabelle Janssen at assos.sauvetat@gmail.com
