AN ENGLISH resident in the Aveyron department of the Midi-Pyrénées is looking to set up a knitting and crochet club in the area to make blankets, shawls and toys for countries in need, such as the Haiti earthquake victims.

Christine Fleet, who has lived in the region with her husband Paul for the past five years, wants to get the project off the ground but is not sure where to start.

She wants to contact people who have set up a similar group elsewhere – especially they can provide information on where to get donated supplies of wool.
