A NEW British folk and classical music group is on the look-out for French town and village festivals to perform at this summer.
The Mishaped Pearls are from London and have received acclaim from the BBC’s alternative music radio station 6Music. Their lyrics are taken from ancient poetry and sung in a mix of French, Italian and Latin.
The group are playing in Saint Ilpize in the Haute-Loire on August 12 - and they would like to add some extra performances in France while they are in the country.
"It would be great to set up a mini-tour for a few weeks around that time although not necessarily in the same area," says guitarist and mandolin-player Ged Flood.
"We are in need of some contacts for mairies or summer festival organisers in and around the south of France.
"I know there are plenty of small and large festivals in the towns and villages all over France and it would fantastic to get the opportunity to play to the local people at some of these events. I think our music would be perfect for churches or outdoor events."
