SOS fundraiser at ambassador's
Connexion edition: October 2009

SOS Help, the counselling helpline for English-speakers in France, is organising a special fundraising evening at the British ambassador’s residence on October 20.

Six authors who have written extensively about life in France and Franco-British relations will talk about their experiences at the event, Writers at the Residence.

The talk will be followed by a reception hosted by Lady Westamott, the patron of SOS Help and wife of Peter Westmacott, the British ambassador to France since 2001.

The six authors are:

Stephen Clarke, author of the popular Merde series, the latest being: “Dial M for Merde”

Bryce Corbett, journalist and author of “A Town like Paris”

Alec Lobrano, author of “Hungry for Paris” and a frequent contributor to Gourmet magazine

Michael Sadler, author of “An Englishman Abroad”, “An Englishman à la Campagne” and “An Englishman Amoureux”

Heather Stimmler-Hall, author of “Naughty Paris” and the much-followed “Secrets of Paris” blog

Charles Timoney, author of “Pardon my French” and “A Certain…Je Ne Sais Quoi”

SOS Help is a not-for-profit emotional support line for anglophones, founded in 1974. The line is manned by volunteers daily between 15.00 and 23.00.

Tickets are 45 euros each and can be reserved via the SOS Help website:
wwww.soshelpline.org

For security reasons, entrance will be by advance ticket only and ID must be produced at the door. No tickets will be sold at the door.
