A380 to fly London Paris shuttle runs

The A380 touches down in Paris

World's largest passenger plane will fly short trips between capitals to help train Air France crew

THE world's largest passenger jet is to start daily shuttle runs between London and Paris this summer.

Air France will be using the A380 on flights between Heathrow and Charles de Gaulle from June 12, according to Le Figaro newspaper.

The airline says the short runs will enable crews to train on the aircraft – a tactic it has used before running 747s between France and Corsica, but which increases wear on the plane.

“On a long haul flight we can train two staff in 24 hours but on a short haul flight we can do several a day,” a source told the newspaper.

A spokesman for Air France said the decision had not been taken officially.
