Can I book free with Ryanair?

Ryanair's policies on card administration charges have changed

Q: IN THE November issue you mention that Visa Electron or Carte Bleue cards carry no service charge. I have tried to book flights online but the site had no option to pay by Carte Bleue. Is it correct that these cards are free from fees?

Ryanair's policies on card administration charges have changed as of last month.

They used to exonerate Visa Electron from their charge (€5 per person per flight).

Since then the firm has changed its policy and only prepaid Mastercard debit cards are exempt.

Ryanair say this is because they are more widely available across Europe than Visa Electron.

Policies on card charges vary from firm to firm among the low-cost air carriers - for example Easyjet state that they have no charges for Visa Electron or for national Cartes Bleues and they have a reduced charge for Visa Debit cards.
