Franco-Brit week in Sainte-Foy
Cricket, boules, English breakfasts and French wine and residents get together for a week of events.
The annual Franco British Week takes place in the Sainte-Foy la Grande area from August 31 – September 6.
Organised by the Club des Entreprises du Pays Foyen (CEPF), it aims to further unite the British and French who live in and around Sainte-Foy.
Now in its third year, it is expected to attract around 1,000 people, both French and English, during the course of the week.
Visitors to the event will be able to take part in a wide range of activities from a garden party to open the event on Sunday, to children’s games, sports competitions and art exhibitions, plus guided tours of the area.
President of CEPF Jacques Pasquet said: “People often choose to live here for the quality and gentle pace of life, and we believe our area offers a warm welcome to the English speakers who move here, wishing to meet others and integrate into their community.
“Our club believes that the French population of the Sainte-Foy area feel the same spirit and goodwill towards their British neighbours and their customs.
“It is with this in mind that we have organised a programme of events with something to offer everyone – the opportunity to make new friends, exchange ideas, share our respective cultures and enjoy the sports events.
“We hope people will join us on Sunday, August 31 at the Stade Mézière for our picnic, the opening event of this year’s Franco British Week.”
