Ticket office closures lose SNCF customers

In response to your article about suspected ticket office closures by SNCF (SNCF denies ticket offices are closing).

The busy SNCF boutique in Ribérac was closed last year.

We could go there to get staff to plan our trek with special offers and dates to fit us.

Now we have to drive about 30km to Périgueux where, at most times of day, there are long queues.

Has SNCF the slightest idea how many of their travellers don’t have a computer and don’t know how to book anything online?

SNCF are throwing away a considerable number of retired clients who like to use trains for outings and visits.

I used to use the SNCF boutique in Ribérac often.

Our maire did all he could to persuade SNCF to keep our little boutique open but they were not interested.

I don’t bother with SNCF now, there are reliable long-distance coaches, plus car-share etc., which one doesn’t have to do a 60km round trip to sort at the main-line station.

Have a good journey with your lap-top, smart phone and eye drops in your luggage…
