Saumur Cricket Club

Registration #:

Saumur Cricket Club was founded in 1992 on the initiative of Charles Krishna Lester. Since then, we have hosted a number of visiting English clubs and French sides from Ile de France to Brittany. We strongly retain our love for the game and our dedication to the expansion of cricket in France.

We are proud to be the oldest home of cricket in the Pays de Loire and to have hosted a number of the France National Teams’ matches and events. Among these, we hosted the Senior side (vs Nottinghamshire 1994, Belgium 2007, Victoria Crusaders 2008, practice on grass), the U19 and U15 Juniors (training weeks and matches vs our Pays de Loire XI), and also the first ever France Ladies International matches (vs Jersey Ladies in 2011). Some of our members played for France or are still involved in National teams.

We play our home games on a grass wicket at L’Ensemble Sportif des Rives du Thouet on the Boulevard de la Marne, Saumur, 49400.
