As usual, during the Summer, we meet each Tuesday at 4:30 pm, Parc de la Pépinière. To chat in English, of course. All welcome, all levels. Don't forget to place an order for a drink or... and, please, abide by sanitary rules.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, we're sorry to inform that OUR LIBRARY IS NOW CLOSED, starting Monday March 16. Re-opening planned for September.
The only anglophone Media Library in the East of France, since 1974, when it opened as a Branch of the American Library in Paris. Independent now.
Altogether a University Library, and an all-public-Association Library. Run by the University of Lorraine and by Association ABAN: "Friends of the American Library in Nancy" (subscription 15 or 5 Euros/year).
2 Part-time qualified Librarians, and many volunteers.
More than 27000 books (novels, books for students and Faculty, comics, books for children and teenagers, travel books, audio-books, DVDs, newspapers, magazines, including children magazines, in English. Bi-lingual novels.
ABAN Activities: 3 chatting sessions in English a week, including one for Students, activities for kids and parents on Wednesday afternoons (singing, story reading, board games), Book Club or Readers'Club once a month: 1st Friday, 3pm, Board Games evening once a month, lectures, theater performances by a US Company... Thanksgiving celebration.
Book Sale once a year.

* Theater in English, by American Company Word for Word from San Francisco. Two performances were planned in March 2020, and were cancelled. The Company plans to come again in September 2020. Short Stories from Retablos, by Octavio Solis. Entrance is free, donations, welcome.
