Around 1,000 Britons in France have so far signed up to take part in an ‘online Queen’s Birthday Party’ organised by the British Embassy in Paris.

Registration for the free event closes at midday tomorrow (Thursday June 24) – it is quick to do, at this link.

This is the first time the Embassy has run its annual summer party entirely online and the first time it has run a special version for the whole British community in France.

Tying in with the Queen’s official birthday in June, the event gives access to an special one-off website which is laid out as a virtual version of the ambassador’s Paris residence.

It will include practical information on issues such as applying for a residency card, registering for French healthcare, travel between the UK and France, and UK driving licences. Embassy experts will be on hand to answer questions.

There will also be attractions including a chance to take a virtual tour of the residence, take part in a quiz, or see how the Embassy promotes the UK’s science, food and drink and cultural heritage to France.

With one week to go, some 147,000 adult Britons have now applied for their Brexit Withdrawal Agreement residency cards, though it is thought that others have yet to apply.
