Free Paris transport pass for over-65s

Change planned to be implemented in the summer

Low-income over-65s in Paris are to get a free Navigo travel pass for the city’s public transport as mayor Anne Hidalgo said they had been “forgotten” as most travel aid was directed at the young and those in work.

The move, aimed at improving people’s mobility so they leave their cars at home, comes into effect from June.

Around 200,000 Parisians earning less than €2,200 a month or €3,400 as a couple will benefit.
