French Sécu targeting lies and fraud
Staff at the Sécu Sécurité Sociale are to be trained to detect benefit cheats in an attempt to cut a fraud bill estimated at €590million – or even higher.
Health, family and retirement benefits staff will all be trained in techniques to spot claimants trying to hide previous statements or avoid questions.
These include tips on assessing body language as well as checking verbal and written statements. The budget for the training is €750,000.
