Missing five-year-old ‘looking for Father Christmas’

A five-year-old boy that went missing in Côtes-d’Armor in Brittany has since been found, and reportedly told adults he was “looking for Father Christmas”.

Kenzo went missing from his home in Lamballe early last Sunday, according to the Côtes-d’Armor gendarmerie.

He was found a few hours later, having allegedly been spotted crossing a roundabout and walking under a bridge at around 08h30 on Sunday, by a nursing assistant who was on her way to work.

She called the gendarmerie because, according to reports, the boy was all alone, and dressed in only pyjamas and slippers on one of the coldest days of the winter so far.

According to reports, the gendarmerie conducted a house-to-house search of the area in an attempt to take Kenzo back home, with the local gendarmerie explaining that the boy had gone missing the the early hours, and his mother was still asleep and had not yet realised he was gone.

Kenzo was then said to have recognised his house, and was reunited with his family.

This was reportedly not the first time that Kenzo has wandered off away from home, and is said to have different stories for his movements each time.

This time, he said he wanted to go and “look for Father Christmas”.

However, it is not certain if he was planning to travel all the way to Lapland - where the big man is thought to live with his elves when not delivering presents - or had simply been a little early for the local farm event, at which “Father Christmas” had been scheduled to make an appearance in the following days.

Hopefully no more children will feel the need to hunt for Father Christmas, especially as he is now accepting letters and emails through La Poste.
