Paris loses new Airbnb battle

Judges have rejected Paris mairie’s legal case against Airbnb after it claimed the holiday letting website published hundreds of adverts with no owner registration number.

The number should highlight if properties were offered for more than the maximum 120 days allowed, but the court said screengrabs did not show the flats were for repeated lets.

Paris was ordered to pay Airbnb €5,000 in damages.

The city has lost 26,000 long-term homes as they switched to more lucrative holiday lets in the in-demand capital.
