Rules for joggers during lockdown in France

Joggers going for a run during the current confinement period must stay in their neighbourhood and should not run for more than 20 minutes, the French Ministry of Sport has clarified.

The Sports Minister Roxana Maracineanu explained the rules via a video message and in reply to people’s questions on Twitter.

She said: “Doing sport outdoors means walking or jogging but respecting three important rules: stay close to your home, keep the outing short and limit any contact to people living in your home. You can go out with your children or alone but you should not meet up with friends.”

Collective sports are banned. However, two people confined in the same home can run together, with their forms (on each).Cycling is only allowed to go to work or to go food shopping.

The minister also advises people to do exercises at home every day.
