School holidays have already started for children... but parents are putting together the list of materials needed for the rentrée

Children have started their summer holidays across the country and will return for the Rentrée on September 3

Holidays in French schools are split in to three zones – A, B and C – with dates often spread although some, such as Toussaint, Christmas and summer holidays, are all taken at the same time.

The Zones cover different education authorities to spread out traffic movements and holiday crowding:

Zone B – Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg

Zone C – Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles
