New French kitchen range from a galaxy far, far away

Famous French cookware manufacturers Le Creuset celebrate Star Wars movies with limited edition range

Star Wars-loving kitchen Jedis will soon be able to combine their love of the movies with their love of cooking - thanks to a new range of products from Le Creuset.

The world-famous cookware business - which is based in Aisne as opposed to a galaxy far, far away - is launching a special Star Wars-themed range of products on November 1, ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the ninth film in the hugely popular sci-fi series.

The collection features pie bird porgs, Death Star and Millennium Falcon stands, droid-inspired mini cocottes, a roaster featuring the famous scene from The Empire Strikes Back in which Han Solo is encased in carbonite - and a Darth Vader casserole dish.

Before you can say "I am your father" - prices are expected to be high. The Han Solo roaster could cost as much as €400, while the Darth Vader dish is set to be as much as €300.

But the piece de resistance of the collection is set to be a hand-painted casserole dish, inspired by the twin suns of the home planet of Luke Skywalker, Tattooine. Only nine will be made - one for each of the Star Wars films.

The Rise of Skywalker is due for release in December.
