Online tax declarations opening

Online income declarations for 2017 income open tomorrow and paper tax forms have started to be sent out.

Those with an account at impots.gouv.fr or who have made at least one previous French income tax declaration, will be able to sign on to declare from tomorrow morning (Wednesday April 11).

The tax authorities have now also provided this year's income declaration deadlines, which are partly dependent on where you live (or where you were living on January 1, 2018) and are as follows:

By paper (for residents and non-residents): May 17

Online for non-residents and French departments 01 to 19: May 22

Online for departments 20-49: May 29

Online for departments 50-976: June 5

For more about making declarations this year, our French Income Tax guide for 2018 is available to buy (to download as a PDF or as a printed copy sent out) at this link.
