Covid-19 France: How far can I travel to shop?
Do I have to shop at my nearest supermarket or can I travel further afield? Is there a kilometre limit set for travel for shopping? I need to travel about 11km to get specialist dog food, is this possible under the current rules?
The government guidelines stipulate that there is no set limit for the distance you can travel to go to the supermarket but that the rule is that your trip should be brief and near to your house, so should be at your nearest supermarket.
You are advised not to travel far for shopping unless you have no other alternative.
For dog food it might depend on how vital the specialist food is to the animal’s health and whether it can be regarded as an essential purchase. The aim is to make sure that movement of people is reduced to a minimum to avoid the spread of the virus.
