Is it possible to use BBC iPlayer in France?

I have been struggling to use BBC iPlayer at my French holiday home – is there a way around this? I thought the BBC was bringing in the right to sign in from abroad temporarily for BBC licence-payers?  H.D.

The BBC has been reviewing the way iPlayer works and the short answer is that it has been considering this but has not done it yet.
