Resident in France, buying a car in UK

We live in France but wish to buy a car in the UK as we cannot find what we want here. How complicated is it to buy a car in the UK without an address there and how do we insure it to drive it home? Also, if we wait until after the transition period ends, will there be added problems/charges?

It should be simple to buy and export a second-hand car from the UK without having an UK address.

The key is to make sure the UK seller completes the “permanent export” section on the log-book, form V5C, and sends it to the DVLA, with a letter giving your name and French address.
