A Christmas Carol presented by Castaways Drama

Written in 1843, “A Christmas Carol” was one of Dickens’ earlier stories, the classic that has rarely been out of print. It tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a sad and grumpy miser who undergoes a transformation through visitations of the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, who show him the error of his ways and the loneliness and unhappiness which will inevitably be his future - unless he changes his attitude. It portrays with both humour and pathos the harsh social conditions that families in the early 19th century had to endure. Yet they looked forward to Christmas with excitement, a happy celebration that they were determined their poverty and hardship would not dull. Dates: Thurs 21st, Fri 22nd Nov and Sat 23rd November at 19:30, plus matinee performance at 14:30 on the Saturday. This promises to be a great starter to the Christmas festivities!
