Every year the Occitanie region organises an open day for visitors to see the places where artists work. The village of Larreule (65) has the region's greatest concentration of places to visit. An astonishing 16 studios and exhibition spaces (converted barns etc) are open to the public. They are within an easy stroll of each other or, if you prefer, you can get about by horse drawn cart. The artists range from amateurs to professionals and the work covers just about everything: oil, watercolours, collages, photographs, sculptures, cartoons and ceramics. Pick up a flyer to trace your route around the studies but you cant get lost as most of them are located on or just off the main road through the village. if you are hungry, there is a food truck in the square which is also a good place to picnic.
