100 years ago, at the end of World War 1, Rev Eric Milner-Wright, recently returned from France, introduced this now traditional form of Christmas Worship. Across France, English Churches be holding Festivals of 9 Lessons and Carols, and the Anglican Chaplaincy of Midi-Pyrenees and the Aude in Alet-Les-Bains is no exception. In the beautiful and historic Eglise St.Andre, which is part of the ruins of the ancient Abbey, English and French, Anglicans and Catholics, will all come together to celebrate Christmas, before enjoying the other tradition of mulled wine and mince pies. The service will be conducted in English and French (and a little bit of Latin), with translations displayed on screen.
If you are in the area, we hope you will come and join us. All welcome.
