Mon réseau mobile (My mobile network) is an online platform and application that allows users to compare coverage and service quality of four telephone operators across the country.

The comparative data concerns France’s main mobile operators: Bouygues, Free, Orange, and SFR.

The platform was developed by the French communications authority the Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques (Arcep) in 2017. An updated version was released earlier this month (July 8), offering users greater clarity and ease of use.

Find the best signal where you live

A series of colour-coded maps of France (with darker colours indicating better coverage), show which operators offer the best signal for making calls, sending texts and using mobile Internet.

This information can then be used to monitor reports and developments in your local area or at a holiday destination within the country.

Coverage can also be tested on certain major roads and transport lines, including TGVs, TERs and even metros in cities such as Paris, Lyon and Marseille.

The Antennes et déploiements feature indicates the location of mobile antennas across the country, enabling the filtering by relevant networks (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) and whether sites are undergoing maintenance, with information being updated daily.

The map titled, Zones à couvrir, shows areas that should gain coverage within the next 24 months, as operators roll-out high-quality mobile connections under the ‘New Deal Mobile’ programme to rural areas with no or poor signal.

Alert Arcep

Users also have the possibility of contributing their own feedback regarding mobile networks, via a feature called J’alerte l’Arcep (I alert Arcep).

This feature “gives you the opportunity to use your experience as a citizen to help regulate the networks and encourage operators to improve and develop their services,” says Arcep.

These alerts mean that difficulties and recurring issues, such as outages and deterioration in quality of service, can be monitored in real time. This information is then relayed to operators to better target repairs and future projects.

The service also accepts alerts related to postal networks, however most alerts concern the telecoms sector, with “dissatisfaction regarding the roll-out of fibre optics accounting for the vast majority,” said l’Arcep in a report published in 2024.

Alerts are then displayed on a dedicated Mon réseau mobile map allowing users to identify areas attracting complaints. This map is updated monthly and displays figures relating to a period of six months prior.

A total of 1,457 reports of mobile network problems have been reported by users in metropolitan France over the last six months.
