Annual allocation de rentrée scolaire will be paid out from August 17
The allocation de rentrée scolaire – money allocated to 2.8million families on modest incomes to help pay for important school materials – will be paid out this year from August 17.
This financial assistance, from the caisse d’allocations familiales (Caf), will amount to €364.09 for a child aged six to 10, €384.17 for a child aged 11-14 and €397.49 for young people aged 15-18, the Ministry of Education said.
Entitlement is based on household income not exceeding a certain ceiling (less than €24,404 for one child, €30,036 for two children, €35,668 for three).
Parents of teenagers aged 16 to 18 no longer be required to provide a justificatif de scolarité or d’aprentissage. Instead, they can simply confirm the fact online at www.caf.fr that their child is still in education or on an apprenticeship for the 2017/18 school year.
