Will EU passports be OK in the UK?

In your April issue (see here) you state that the European Commission has advised that a valid UK passport saying ‘European Union’ will continue to be accepted for visitors travelling to France.

You fail to mention whether it will be acceptable for visitors travelling to the UK.

Surely it would be easy for the UK to supply a sticker to cover the words ‘European Union’ from “burgundy” passports?

Editor’s note: The UK says there will be no different treatment for Britons after Brexit dependent on whether or not their passports say ‘European Union’.   It also says people with other EU passports entering for visits will not face additional entry requirements and there are no current plans for UK-only lanes.
