New ‘at source’ tax system to trialled this summer

The new ‘at source’ tax system set to start in 2018 will be trialled in some French businesses as of this summer.

The government wants to do three months of tests, possibly starting in June, to iron out any issues before the system goes live in January next year.

The Budget Ministry said a ‘representative’ sample of businesses will be involved.

Connexion’s new 2017 guide to filling in the French tax forms explains in detail what changes are in store, as well as how to make your tax declaration this year, whether by paper or online.

French income tax declarations concern all residents of France and non-residents who have certain declarable French-sourced income, especially from renting out property.

You can pre-order the guide, at €9.50 until March 31, then €12.50 at this link. https://www.connexionfrance.com/index.php/Help-Guides/Preorder-French-Income-Tax-2017-The-complete-guide
