Ownership is still key French aim

Taking out a loan to buy a home is the preferred option for three out of four people.

Seventy-six per cent of French people would rather own their home than rent or share, even if it meant taking out a large loan, brokers Artémis Courtage found.

Only 22% opted willingly to rent.

Three-quarters of those polled said home ownership was a “life goal”.
