Photo of the month: Burgundy

Every month we will be sharing a photograph of a place in France. This month we take a look at Burgundy.

Famous for producing the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, Burgundy is home to some of the world’s most celebrated (and most expensive) wines such as Romanée-Conti, Richebourg, Meursault and Pommard.
It also produces Bresse chickens, Dijon mustard and cassis (for Kir Royal) – it is clear that good food and fine wine are essential to Burgundian culture.
Why not treat your palate to a taste tour along the “Champs-Elysées” of Burgundy, from Dijon to Santenay, to sample the region’s grand cru wines?
Be sure also to try Burgundy’s snails. These escargots are stuffed with garlic, parsley and butter and in contrast to those served elsewhere, they are wild.
Top off your day by exploring some of the many regional cultural attractions, such as the Abbaye de Fontenay or the Museum of Fine Arts in Dijon.
