SNCF launches discount rail travel for summer holidays

Thousands of discounted tickets for TGV and Intercité journeys between June 29 and September 3 on sale

Thousands of cut-price rail tickets for summer holiday travel went on sale on Thursday, March 29.

The cut-price tickets are available on TGV and Intercité journeys between June 29 and September 3, with more than 20 million people expected to make a rail journey in France during the summer months.

Prices start from €29 for TGV tickets, or €10 euros on low-cost TGV service Ouigo, and €15 for Intercité travel - and can be booked online at the SNCF website.

Low-cost Ouigo tickets, meanwhile, are on offer at discount prices until December 8.

The number of tickets is limited and are available only on certain days. The tickets are not refundable.
