Reader question: Is it necessary for me to have an appointment with my doctor before I get the Covid vaccine? I am happy to go without one
From Monday, January 18, over 75s and people deemed high-risk to serious forms of Covid in France will be able to receive a vaccine.
For those high-risk people, it will be necessary to have a consultation with a GP before being vaccinated.
Which high-risk people can be vaccinated Monday in France?
For everyone else, a consultation is not obligatory.
It is now possible to book appointments for a Covid vaccination. This can be done either through the government website sante.fr, or via the reservation platforms Doctolib, Maiia and KelDoc.

Anyone going to get vaccinated will need to give their permission. This can be done at the vaccination centre during a consultation with a nurse or doctor and patients can be vaccinated immediately after.
