France lockdown: Can I go to UK for hospital appointment?

Travel for medical reasons is allowed during France’s lockdown

Reader question: Can I travel back to the UK where I have a hospital appointment for my eyes to be tested with regard to diabetes? I have tried to find out online with little success.

Short answer: Yes, with the right paperwork.

The Connexion contacted the Covid-19 helpline in France and was told that this should not be a problem.

You should fill out an exemption certificate (attestation de déplacement) before travelling and tick the third box: Consultations, examens et soins ne pouvant être assurés à distance et l’achat de médicaments.

You will also need to carry an official document confirming your hospital appointment. This document must include the date of your appointment and the address of the hospital.

Do not forget that you will need to fill out an exemption certificate when you are returning to France. You should also keep the document confirming your hospital appointment with you.
