What do sworn translations cost in France?

I need to have British birth and marriage certificates translated when applying for French citizenship. The first price quoted was €60 per page. Is this a normal price? It seems steep.  P.P.

There are no set tariffs but the price quoted is on the higher side. Prices we have seen are around €25-55 per document (quotations may be per “page” but usually these simple documents are a single page).

Factors to consider may include speed –one reader was quoted €75/page by an agency for a priority service in 48 hours –  what presentation is involved (will the translator reproduce the layout of the original or just the words?), and how many documents you need translating (some translators give a discount for working on several documents at once).

You may find in some cases that translators working alone are less expensive than agencies.

Predictably, prices in Paris are often higher than elsewhere.
