Footsbarn Festival 2022!

The Festival, which has hosted the likes of Sanseverino, Glen Hansard and Hank Wangford in the past will also include groundbreaking new theatre and live music curated by the Green Note venue in London. The three-day event will take place in the company’s iconic big top tents, and neighbouring fields will host free wild camping for festival-goers. Set in the rolling countryside, in the heart of the Bourbonnais in central France, La Chaussée (a converted farm) has been Footsbarn’s home since 1991 and has become a cultural hub for Footsbarn Travelling Theatre and their entourage of weird and wonderful theatre acts. It has also served as a springboard for local, national and international touring companies. Music has been synonymous with Footsbarn since the company first started in Cornwall in 1971 and was one of the first theatre troupes to play the Glastonbury Festival. Immy from London’s Green Note has curated two nights of live music with headline slots from Michele Stodart from internationally renowned The Magic Numbers and the legendary Hank Wangford, along with the Lunatraktors, and Bau Cat. This year’s Festival will also see the showcase of Little Gerda and the Queen of the Snow, Footsbarn’s first new production in three years and the first under its new artistic director Sadie Jemmett. In the same rich vein as Footsbarn, is Anglo-Irish theatre company Baubo Theatre, who will be making its debut at the Festival with a show that promises to be high-octane, physical, and rooted strongly in visual design and traditions of the clown and bouffon. We will also welcome the Compagnie Quatre Cats from Brittany with their hilarious 'Fables' show. To complete the stellar line-up will be Paris comedian Julie-Albertine (@juliealbertine), a rising star on the French comedy circuit and an acclaimed scriptwriter. Tickets on sale now from
