Covid-19 France: Help local health workers via website

Clapp.fr is named after the 20.00 applause that many of those living in cities have heard from our balconies recently and has been created by a Bordeaux-based start-up, Obvy.

It is for people wanting to show their support to workers on the front line against the Covid-19 crisis in practical ways.

Many such workers have irregular and long hours and may be working at a distance from home.

The website therefore allows people to offer such help as looking after their children, doing shopping for them, offering a spare bed for the night, a meal, the loan of a car etc.

People may click on Proposer mon aide to put up their offers according to their geographic location and certain practical categories, such as je fais vos courses (I do your shopping), je garde vos enfants (I look after your children) etc.

Any healthy members of the public or professionals are invited to take part as a gesture of solidarity.

The offers can be viewed on a map and for someone to take one up they may send a message to the person, directly via the Clapp website, and the message will be sent to the email of the person proposing the service.

Clapp was created by Obvy, a company that offers a secure system of payment between members of the public visiting classified ads listings websites.

It says the services on Clapp are all free and any data will be deleted after the end of the Covid-19 crisis and will not be reused for commercial purposes.
