First French income tax deadline this week

This is for online declarations for all those who are resident in departments numbered 01 to 19, as well as all non-residents who are declaring online.

If you declared online last year you will not receive a form or forms in the post this year, so you need to remember to log onto your personal space at impots.gouv.fr and click Accéder à la déclaration en ligne.

The remaining deadlines are coming up next week: Monday June 8 for online declarations for departments 20-54 and Thursday June 11 for online declarations for departments 55-976.

Those declaring by paper have the longest this time: by Friday June 12 for all areas, residents and non-residents.

All closing dates are at 23.59, meaning for example that if declaring by paper you can still drop the form into the letterbox at your tax office on the evening.

Other than first-time declarers, everyone is meant to declare online this year if they have internet access at home and are not prevented from doing so by circumstances such as advanced age or disability, or those living in certain designated blackspots for mobile internet.
