Online French tax declaration gave error message

I have just made my tax declaration online. However when I got to the last page where you ‘sign’, I got an error message saying I have a ‘discordance’. Do you understand what it means? It said: Discordances to check: You have indicated on the withholding tax declaration no. 2041E that you have worked all year round which is incompatible with the filing of a declaration of income received abroad (2047). Please check. R.T.

A ‘discordance’ means elements in the declaration are contradictory.

Form 2041E, in a paper declaration, relates notably to certain earnings in France by people who are not French tax residents and who have had some French tax taken off at source and paid directly to the non-residents’ tax service.

On the other hand, 2047 is a form completed by French residents who have income from outside France.

It seems that on your online declaration you completed equivalent sections to both of these, indicating having worked all year in France while being officially tax domiciled elsewhere, but at the same time you completed a section that relates to French residents.
