Need a pee? Here's an app for that...

First AirBnB found you somewhere to sleep - now AirPnP app offers a list of the nearest available lavatories

HAVE you ever been caught short in a strange town? A new app from America could come to your rescue as it reaches France.

AirPnP, which operates in a similar way to homestay website Air BnB, highlights properties, including private homes whose owners are prepared to let strangers use their facilities for a fee.

The app - and associated website https://airpnp.co/ - was originally set up as a light-hearted yet practical way to help Mardi Gras revellers in New Orleans go with the flow in more ways than one.

With a slogan of “we take care of lavatory logistics so you don’t have to”, the mobile guide listed bathrooms on the city’s parade route.

It has proved so popular that it is expanding worldwide - and now a number of venues in France are among the 120 listed in Europe.

Co-founder Max Gaudin explained: “You can just whip out the iPhone or Android or any other phone and basically find the closest place to pee.”

Not only can those in need look up a map of nearby bathrooms, those who want to rent out their facilities can advertise on the site.

Most of the toilets on offer are in public buildings, shops, or offices, but private home owners can also advertise their facilities.

Users can either pay through the app or in cash and are able to review the quality of their bathroom experience for others.
