December dates of when France’s €100 energy bill bonus will be paid
Nearly six million households are set to benefit to help them pay their energy bills
Some 5.8 million households in France are due to benefit from an exceptional chèque énergie (energy cheque) this month but the date of reception will differ between departments.
The one-off €100 payment was announced by Prime Minister Jean Castex in September, and aims to assist low-income households with their winter energy bills amid rapidly rising prices.

It will be posted automatically to households which already receive an annual energy cheque, in addition to their usual payment.
To benefit, your household income must fall below a certain threshold (€10,800 for a single person or one consumption unit).
A consumption unit is calculated on the basis that one person represents one unit, the second person 0.5 of a unit, and each additional person 0.3 of a unit.
You can work out whether you are eligible for the energy cheque via this government calculator.
The distribution of cheques depends on the department in which you live.
