No plans to vaccinate under-12s, says French minister
The government is focusing on vaccinating as many teenagers as possible – though there will be no obligation for a health pass at school
There are no plans to vaccinate under-12s against Covid, France’s education minister has said.
It is “not on the agenda,” said Jean-Michel Blanquer yesterday, on a visit to the Hauts-de-Seine department.

He added: “Today the objective is to get over-12s vaccinated in France.”
More than half of 12-17-year-olds have had at least one dose this summer, the minister said.
“More than 30% have had two doses now, which is a good sign for a school year which will be as normal as possible.”
Health rules for schools at the rentrée, in two weeks’ time, will be announced in the coming days.
From next month there will be dedicated vaccination campaigns aimed at school pupils who have not had a jab, though there will be no obligation. The health pass will not be required for attending school.
